The teachers, parents and students who rely on DC public schools can’t wait another 3 years. Kids are back in the classroom, and they need immediate support to make schools safe, welcoming, and ready to meet their academic and social needs. And teachers need to know they are supported and valued.

District officials have yet to respond to WTU’s proposals for immediate and reasonable steps to enhance safety, health, and wellness for all students, with benefits for the entire school community. In addition, the Washington Teachers Union (WTU) has proposed several new provisions to the collective bargaining agreement due to expire on September 30^th that will enhance teaching and learning in every Ward.
