Retirees built the Washington Teachers’ Union (WTU) to create and sustain the conditions it takes to ensure that each and every student in Washington, D.C., receives a world-class education.

Retirees fought for and won the benefits they and active members enjoy.

Moreover, a growing number of members of the WTU Retirees Chapter are deeply involved in working to improve the DC community and in efforts to ensure excellence in DC public education. Several work to support pro-education candidates in DC elections and others run for public offices themselves.

Today, more than ever, active teachers look to retirees for guidance.Join_the_Reitrees_chapter_-_Graphic.jpg
