Successfully Integrating the Arts into your Curriculum - Summer 2024

This course focuses on how teachers can incorporate music in their classrooms and school through arts integration. Emphasis will be on the historical periods of western music from the Baroque Era through the 21st Century. The research presented in this course provides an insight into the lives of great composers, their compositions, and the political, social and economical status in their culture. Teachers will also gain further knowledge of compositional styles. They will learn about famous musical figures of the period while listening, viewing, and discussing each piece. The course also presents a synthesis of the research from the history of arts integration in public schools in the United States, the history of education in the United States as well as how arts integration has a pivotal role in the development of the whole child.

Asynchronous Work Time: 10 Hours

Participants may earn 45 PLU’s or three graduate credits from Trinity University.

 

* Note: Some classes may end on the 25th to accommodate teachers beginning summer school on the 26th. For those who need it, we will grant an asynchronous or 1/2 day PM schedule on that day!
