We are calling on all members to participate in the Special Membership Vote on the WTU Budget happening Tuesday, October 14. This is your chance to help shape how our union allocates resources to support our priorities and make your voice count. Now’s the time to strengthen our collective voice — explore the updates below, RSVP for upcoming meetings, and help us grow a more powerful, responsive union.
This Membership Month, we’re not just welcoming new members — we’re building deeper connections with current ones. This week’s Union Update is packed with opportunities to get involved, from joining your Area VP meeting to stepping into one of our strategic committees or task forces. Whether you're passionate about organizing, communications, professional development, or policy, there’s a space for you to lead and make an impact.

Special Membership Vote: Review & Vote on the WTU Budget
We need WTU members to vote on the proposed union budget — a critical step in shaping how we fund our priorities, from member support to organizing and advocacy. Your voice matters in this process, and we encourage every member to review the proposed budget in advance of the vote.

Seeking Feedback on DCPS School Technology
Each fall the Digital Equity in DC Education parent coalition checks in with school communities to understand how technology is working at the local school level (devices, internet connectivity, access to platforms and learning apps, etc.) and uses these insights to highlight priority areas in conversations with DCPS and DC Council.
Please take a few minutes to fill out a short survey (3 minutes) and share with your school communities. The survey will close on Monday, October 20.
