AM BREW _ May 27th, 2025

President's Message

Dear WTU Family,

I hope you all enjoyed a restful and meaningful Memorial Day weekend, taking time to honor those who have served our nation and to recharge as we approach the final stretch of the school year.

As we look ahead, I want to extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join the Washington Teachers’ Union in celebrating WorldPride 2025 at our Rooftop Kickoff Party at the Hotel Zena on Thursday, June 5th  and the Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th. We invite all members to march with us and to volunteer at our booth during the festival to give away a book of choice to every family. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our union’s solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and to celebrate the inclusive values we uphold in our schools and classrooms.

To volunteer or sign up to march, please use this link! All participants will receive a complimentary WTU 2025 World Pride tee-shirt.

Thank you for all that you do. I am continually inspired by your dedication and passion, and I look forward to standing together with you at WorldPride 2025.

In solidarity,
Jacqueline Pogue Lyons
President, Washington Teachers’ Union
