Managing Behaviors in School Communities

Starting Soon!  This course will provide educators with research-based strategies for working with students with behavioral and emotional problems. Teachers will learn how to reduce or prevent disruptive and dangerous outbursts and understand the possible origins of the behavior and how to mitigate and/or prevent outbursts by utilizing effective classroom management methods, student observation methods, and behavioral management techniques.

Whole Child Training

A whole child education prioritizes the full scope of a child’s developmental needs—social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and psychological, as well as academic—to ensure that all children are able to reach their full potential. A whole child approach is built on the understanding that students’ education and life outcomes depend on their access to positive relationships inside and outside of school, a safe learning environment, and deeper learning opportunities. Reach out to: Sarah Phillips, Director, Learning & Development Sciences [email protected] for more information.

Register for Union Leadership Institute (ULI)

The WTU offers regular Union Leadership Institutes (ULIs) that give all members the opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills and to acquire the detailed knowledge needed to be an effective teacher representative to help ensure the voice of teachers are heard.
