Conversational Spanish – Oct 22

This course focuses on conversation emphasizing pronunciation, basic communication and vocabulary. It also provides the knowledge, vocabulary and grammatical structures necessary for teachers to use Spanish immediately for communication as well as an introduction to some Spanish culture.

Culturally Responsive Pedagogy – Oct 22

This course will cover how we can build safe spaces in our classrooms to help our scholars be more expressive and feel welcomed. This session will offer an opportunity to learn from each other as we chat about strategies, we can utilize in our classes for the 2022-2023 school year!

Best Practices of Integrating Technology to Enhance Student Engagement & Assessment – Oct 22

This course will focus on the research and instructional practices of educators (Pre-K-12) effectively planning, creating, and utilizing Google Classroom (Learning Management System), MS 365 Teams, MS 365 OneNote, MS 365 Sway, MS 365 SharePoint, MS 365 Forms, and MS 365 Stream for instruction, student learning, and assessment. It will provide teachers opportunities to implement best practices in face to face, hybrid and/or distance learning.

Psychology and Education of Exceptional – Oct 25

This course is designed to provide opportunities that specifically meet the needs of special educators and other school personnel. Participants will acquire knowledge regarding the psychological development and characteristics for children and youth.

Ward W2EC

Ward 2 Education Council will meet Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 pm. At-Large Councilmember Robert White will be joining us as the Chair of the Committee overseeing the city's building maintenance to talk about school facilities needs. Please share with us your school's facilities and maintenance challenges before the meeting so we can compile a list for all of Ward 2. Register HERE to attend the meeting on Zoom.

DCPS Librarians will be hosting a Silent Read In on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10-12noon in front of the Wilson Building located at 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington D.C.
